What are we buying this week? What aren’t we buying? Below, we rounded up a few of the things we found so irresistible, we had to nab them — and share them with you.
Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor: I had a gift card to use at Piperlime, and with all the great finds at the Soho shop, it was nearly impossible to pick something out. Until I saw this coral skirt on display, and basically did a victory dance in front of the other shoppers (and yes, I even did a spin for the sales assistant when I tried it on in the fitting room).
The light vegan leather material is perfect for summer. Plus, the laser cut paisley pattern on the scalloped hem feels really fresh and on-trend right now. I like it so much I made my pal Whitney Little (see below) snap a shot of me wearing it today with my go-to chambray shirt.
Whitney Little, Associate Producer: I was so excited about H&M’s new e-commerce site that I celebrated by … going into the store to try on at least 20 different pieces (hey, nothing beats the unflattering lights in a cramped dressing room, right?).
Among my selections was this structured navy blazer, which was an easy sell because a) the price (under 35 bucks!) and b) the versatility (I’ve already dreamt up eight different ways to wear it). Plus, seeing it hanging up in my closet makes the thought of cooler weather just a little more bearable.
Sarah Ball, Fashion Intern: So I recently hopped on the jumpsuit bandwagon. I know, I’m a little late to this trend, but I’m loving my new Zara purchase and how it goes with almost everything in my closet. Plus the elastic waistband on it makes it comfortable and easy to wear. It’s like wearing your pajamas (your very chic pajamas) in public.
The onesie is also the perfect day-to-night transitional piece. Wear it with a blazer and a cute pair of closed-toe pumps during the day, and then play up the drama at night with a statement necklace and a pair of ankle-strap heels. I know it seems like a summer piece, but you can really even wear it well into fall. Just layer it with a jacket and a cute pair of booties and you’re set! Needless to say, I’m obsessed with this look, and it has quickly become a new staple in my wardrobe.
