Lo Bosworth Is Back On Camera Dishing Out Good Advice – And You Don’t Have to Be L.C. To Receive It!

Anyone else having The Hills withdrawal these days? We are. But for our money, we could leave Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge’s relationship drama behind — we’re jonesing for a fix of Lauren “Lo” Bosworth’s smart, peppy and no-nonsense advice.

She must have read our minds, because not only is she back with her lifestyle blog The Lo Down, she’s bringing her unique take on fashion, food and beauty to YouTube as well with her own YouTube channel with help from YouTube’s fashion gurus at StyleHaul. But with so many of her former Hills costars sharing fashion expertise, is she worried about setting herself apart? Not at all, it turns out.

“While I love beauty and fashion — I’ve been whipping up custom lip colors for years with blush and Vaseline — I’m a passionate at-home chef and will be sharing my knowledge in the kitchen regularly with viewers,” she tells PEOPLE while giving us the exclusive first look at her intro video (above) and an at-home mani tutorial (below). “I cook and prepare food in a way that is accessible and easy. Happy tummies fuel the creativity to put together great outfits and beauty looks!”

So besides mouthwatering recipes and lots of nail art (as any Instagram follower of Bosworth’s could guess), what can viewers expect? “Lots of friends will be making appearances, so definitely keep an eye on my Twitter for those announcements,” she teases, adding that ultimately, “my goal is to provide viewers with lifestyle advice across the board, rather than focus on one area exclusively.”

And if this takes off, who knows what could come next for the star? “I’m fanatical about nail polish and am currently discussing some options in the beauty space,” Bosworth shares. “I’m also exploring kitchenware and have been thinking about a cookbook. Time (and the viewers) will tell!”

StyleHaul CEO Stephanie Horbaczewski is equally excited for Bosworth to join the team, telling PEOPLE, “We are so excited for Lauren to join the StyleHaul network. While Lauren is no stranger to being in front of the camera, her YouTube channel is going to allow her to connect closer to her fans, as well as tapping into a new and younger audience that might not recognize her from MTV.”

So how did she decide to get back onto the screen to share her tips? “My desire to go digital came a couple of months ago, when a documentary I created and executive produced for MTV, I’m Positive , had been nominated for a Daytime Emmy. The pride I felt at that moment compelled me to continue creating content, but I wanted the ability to move quickly and on my own terms,” she says. “The genius of YouTube is that it democratizes production [and provides a platform to build an audience and monetize] … Everything else is easy. I’m thrilled to be a part of this movement.”

Tell us: Are you excited to check out Bosworth’s new YouTube channel?
